Dr. Bruce C. Hemming - President & CEO

Dr. Hemming is an accomplished science and business professional with over 30 years of real-world experience in microbiology and its practical applications. In 1982 he received his doctorate in Plant Pathology from Montana State University - Bozeman. His BS degree in Microbiology and MS degree in Biochemistry are both from Brigham Young University, Utah. He is the founder and president of Microbe Inotech Laboratories, which is now in its 18th year of business. As an educator, Dr. Hemming served as an adjunct professor at St. Louis University as well as University of Missouri - St. Louis, and as a visiting faculty member for the Institute for Genetics Education at the University of Wisconsin. He currently serves on three biotechnology committees for multi-disciplinary teams involved in original research. He has earned several patents on his research within the field of microbiology. Dr. Hemming was charged with the development of creative exploratory research within crop protection technology with a focus on biological control and microbial genetics and served as Biocontrol Project Leader in the development of biofungicides in conjunction with CSIRO Division of Solis Australia and Universities in the U.S.A.  His responsibility included the development of collaborative agreements, preparation of regulatory documents, microbial physiology and tracking studies, coordination of the natural product/gene discovery effort, and field trials of various projects, which included the first introduction into the environment in the genetically engineered bacteria containing foreign genes.



Dr. Michael N. Ndengele, PHD – Microbiologist / Parasitologist II, COO Microbe Scan LLC. (USA),

Dr. Ndengele is a Parasitologist, Microbiologist, Biochemist and Cell Biologist.  Dr Ndengele has practiced in both Academia and Industry in designing and performing experiments leading a greater knowledge in and understanding of a variety of microbes with specific interest in malaria utilizing in vivo and in vitro studies to understand gram negative bacterial infection and malaria pathology.  In addition to those studies Dr. Ndengele has experience in cell cultures of both mammalian and microbial for use in experimentation to gain better understanding of effects of novel drugs on living organisms.  Dr. Ndengele has had the opportunity to present his finding at multiple Meeting of the American Thoracic Society Conferences, Nitric Oxide Meeting conference, Meeting of the society of Protozoologists Conference, as well as the Meeting of the American Society of Parasitologists Conference, and to publish his finding in peer reviewed journals JPET, ARS, Shock, JCI, Experimental Parasitology, AJP-Lung, Journal of immunology, Free Radical Biology& Medicine, and The FASEB Journal.


Michele R. Gossett, MPA – Lab Manager / Microbiologist II

Michele assists the Laboratory Manager in all aspects of sample receipt and preparation, setting up and running analyses, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing and co-signing client reports and is also involved with training and overseeing the interns.



Lucy W. Burns, MS – Manager, Grants & Contracts

Lucy Burns is an accomplished scientist with expertise in plant pathology, molecular biology, molecular diagnostics, biotechnology, QC/QA, and genotyping. Her works on obtaining virus free plants was presented at the annual meeting of American Peanut Research and Education Society and published in both Peanut Science and Journal of Phytopathology.  Her works in plant tissue culture and gene discovery were published in peer reviewed journals and public sequence database: Plant Cell, Tissue, Organ Culture Journal; Plant Cell Reports; Plant Physiology Journal; GenBank (NCBI). In addition, she co-authored five US patents on transgenic events detection methods which are related to the methodologies of GMO detection. With nearly twenty years of industrial experience, she also gained great knowledge in quality management, project management and leadership development. She is interested in applying scientific ideas to identify creative solutions for microbe detection and hope to make contributions to applications of plant pathology and phytoremediation.




Dr. Amber M. Bokhari, MD – Manager, Health & Marketing

Dr. Bokhari is a medical doctor from the Fatima Jinnah Medical University (2002) with excellent experience in hospital administration and internal medicine, as well as extensive experience with management of profit and nonprofit organizations. She is involved with our corporate development through planning and implementation of ongoing growth strategies having a strong understanding of B-to-B marketing, sales, and financial management and excellence in microbiology.  She coordinates all projects involved in our health and nutrition services including environmental and medical surveillance testing.


Doug Bodily, MBA – IT Manager

Doug Bodily has 20 plus years’ experience in IT Support and Management. Doug has been responsible IT Testing, Server Management, Desktop Management, and Managing the support staff required for the IT department to run smooth and effectively. Doug brings his knowledge of operating systems, hardware, software, and web design to provide guidance and implementation of new applications and adoption of new programs in order to improve workflows, and reduce work times.



Sara Mack – Microbiologist

Sara assists in all aspects of sample receipt and preparation, setting up and running analyses, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing and co-signing client reports. As Laboratory Microbiologist, Sara works with lab manager to set up and confer on new projects, developing SOP's, and work with laboratory equipment.




Sandi B. Hemming, RDN, LD. – Director of Food Safety & Nutrition

Mrs. Hemming is an experienced food and nutrition professional with many years of clinical experience. She has also applied her skills in the food service and community arenas. As an educator, she served as an adjunct professor at Idaho State University as well as BYU-I. She has also taught within the healthcare world, developing in-service programs for healthcare workers including food safety training. She has participated in program development, community health promotion, served as a media spokesperson and has consulted in a variety of industries and government programs for various demographics groups including the restaurant industry, day care, hospice, home health, early childhood education and geriatrics. She is certified in weight management for adults levels I and II and has shown a commitment to health promotion through a variety of professional and volunteer affiliations. She has a keen interest in the provision of an optimal diet that is safe and available to all.  She provides formulation help and nutritional labelling for MiL inc. clientele.
